David Geffen Hall
Digital wayfinding and artwork for the home of the New York Philharmonic
The renovation of David Geffen Hall, home to the New York Philharmonic, offered Lincoln Center an opportunity to advance its goal of welcoming both new and returning audiences to its cultural campus. By reimagining the music hall as more than just a performance venue, Lincoln Center aimed to create an inclusive cultural space that engages visitors beyond the traditional concert experience.

To support this vision, AV&C conceived a suite of expressive digital layers that enhance daily programming in public areas and expand the ways visitors connect with the space and its offerings—a dynamic approach that moves beyond the limitations of conventional digital signage.

In close collaboration with a world-class project team—including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the New York Philharmonic, Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects (TWBTA), and 2x4—AV&C designed and implemented 22 digital elements that support placemaking, engagement, curatorial, and informational goals. These touchpoints function either as a unified collection or independently in specific roles across new spaces, including the Lobby, Welcome Center, Sidewalk Studio, and Music Box.

Interactive screens throughout the lobby tiers invite patrons to explore the Philharmonic, its musicians, and its conductors—deepening their connection to the institution and its programming.
